Great race home | Ready
to go in Washington DC, June 23
Update June 13:
It's less than 4 days to go before
we hitch up and drive off to Virginia for the start!
We had a final
practice session in the desert on Saturday, and we're
finishing up the few remaining cosmetic issues left.The
truck is running great, and we're getting our maneuvers
down to consistently within a few tenths of a second.
The performance chart is being finalized, and we still
need to apply our BP decals, change the oil, and a
few other small projects, but it's more or less ready
to race! The tension and excitement are building, and
we'll breathe a sigh of relief when we get there on
one piece, and get through tech inspection.
We will start providing daily trip reports
about the 23rd, with updates on our cross country progress
before that.
The next challenge is to tow it across the
US to get it to the start in Washington DC (we'll actually
be staying in Virginia for a few days before the race begins).
We'll update our progress getting it there, then once the
race begins we'll keep a daily updated log here on the
website so that you can follow along.
We're excited! This process began last year,
and we've been working on the truck for over 6 months.
