"Poly" bushings and shock absorbers
Factory Series Land Rover leaf
springs can be enhanced with Old Man EMU shock absorbers
and urethane "poly" bushings. Old Man EMU's are the best
you can buy and are widely used.
 |
These tough urethane
spring bushing kits are designed to replace the stock
rubber spring and frame bushings on your Series Land
Rover. Once installed they are much easier to replace
than the factory spring bushings. We strongly
recommend replacing worn frame bushings with urethane
(it's a nasty job and you only want to do it once!).
One kit required
per leaf spring, and does both the spring and the frame
bushing.

Factory replacement shock absorbers work
fine in many cases. But if you travel in places where
you work your Series Land Rover's suspension hard, you
should consider upgrading your Series Land Rover's suspension
by switching from standard to Old Man EMU heavy duty oil
shock absorbers.
Nitrogen gas shock absorbers don't loose
their dampening with heat caused by rapid oscillations (that
could be off road, but some LA freeways are worse!), and
the very stout construction hold up great off road. We've
been told they ride better than stock shocks, but that's
subjective!
They are designed for your Series Land Rover
(other brands, like Bilstein or Rancho are not specifically
valved for Land Rover, they just fit), and in our opinion
there is no better shock available. They have a 2 year replacement
warranty, regardless of mileage or use (rock damage notwithstanding,
of course!) Note: you need 1 bushing kit to mount 4 shocks
(shocks do not come with bushings). The bushings are urethane.
