I purchased a new battery ground cable because the old cable would no longer tighten on the battery lug. The original LR tapered shaft just did not provide sufficient range of adjustment. (perhaps Land Rover did not consider 21 years service). The new cable has a conventional cross bolt with a substantial range of adjustment and easily tightened securely on the battery. The other end of the cable is a serious PITA. I eventually taped the bolt to my socket to allow one handed installation. There is hardly enough room for one hand.

Note that the end of the cable from the tie down is about 2 inches longer than the stock cable, so when you put the nut on the body / fender, the cable (which is very thick) won't stay under the plastic cover and stay where it needs to go through the battery box. To fix, I trimmed & filed the cable area on the battery box over to the fender. Perfect and looks dead stock. But know cutting your battery box is the best way.

I really like the two ground points on this new cable. I was having some electrical issues, and they now seem to be under control.
